How do I make a GIF file smaller without uploading it?
To make a GIF smaller without uploading it, open FilesAll's Compress GIF, add your GIF and press Compress GIF. FilesAll uses fewer colors and can make the picture smaller, while animated GIFs keep their timing. You never get a bigger file. It all runs in your browser, on your own device.

Frequently asked questions
Will my animated GIF still play the same?
Yes. Every frame and its timing are kept, so the GIF plays at the same speed.
Will it look different?
A GIF that uses fewer colors can look a little less smooth in soft shadows and gradients. Most GIFs look the same at a glance. Making it narrower shrinks the file the most.
Why didn't my GIF get much smaller?
Some GIFs are already as small as they can be. If FilesAll can't make yours smaller, it tells you and your original stays as it was.
Can I compress a GIF on my phone?
Yes. Open this page in your phone's browser, choose the GIF and download the smaller one. Nothing needs to be installed.
Can I make a GIF from a video?
Yes. Use Video to GIF to make one from an MP4, MOV or WebM clip.
Is FilesAll free?
Yes. You can use FilesAll free every day without signing up, and the tool shows how many free files you have left today. A free account gives you more each day, and Pro removes the daily limit.
Do I need to install anything?
No. FilesAll works in the web browser you already have, on Windows, Mac, Chromebook, iPhone and Android. There is nothing to install, and you do not need an account to start.
Are my files uploaded?
No. FilesAll does all the work inside your browser, on your own device. Your files are never sent to our servers or anyone else's, and they disappear when you close the tab.
Want to check for yourself? Your browser's developer tools list every request this page makes. None of them carries your file.
